Welcome to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The University of Iowa. We are home of the CivilHawks and are interested in all things water, structures, transportation, and infrastructure. We train civil and environmental engineering students to engineer a better world. We have 25 faculty, 250 undergraduate students, and 65 graduate students. We have a 98% placement rate for our undergraduate students and our graduate programs are highly ranked (e.g., #10 in Environmental Engineering/Health public graduate programs). The college of engineering is home to the world renowned IIHR - Hydroscience and Engineering Institute and one of the premier Centers on Computer Aided Design.
Our students are the heart of our program and both our graduate and undergraduate students are actively engaged in projects that help build a better world. We are always looking for bright, curious, motivated students who want to help us engineer a better world. If you are interested in joining us as an undergraduate student, check out our CivilHawks website to learn more about what we do and how to apply. If you are interested in working with us to do research and earn an MS or PhD degree and want to learn more about our research and graduate programs visit the following websites: CEE Graduate Programs, IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering, or Center for Computer Aided Design. If you have any questions or something looks of interest, feel free to email me.
